The Sacred Trees of Garuda are living landmarks, revered by the Karu and watched by Soulcarvers.
Garuda has always treated certain trees like elders. You do not rush past them. You do not cut them down because a road would be easier if it ran straight. You make room.
The Sacred Trees are a family of revered species tied to the Emerald Land's oldest stories. The Somber Tree, Crescentshot, and Eternals are the names most outsiders hear first, though the Karu keep longer lists and far better memories.
The Great Somber Tree sits at the center of Emerald Nest, old enough that records start to get shy around it. Karu tradition holds that its seeds shaped the first forests of Garuda, and Soulcarvers still look to it as a guide for how living wood should be treated.
Nobody agrees on the full botany. The reverence is clearer than the taxonomy, which feels about right for Garuda.
