Two places on Tikor are simply understood: you do not go, and you do not come back.
The Canopy
The Canopy sits on the western edge of the south, across the sea from Grimnest. Pillar mountains erupt from a forest so dense the treetops crest the cloud line. The area generates its own weather. From the outside, it looks like an enchanted wilderness.
Something lives above those clouds. No one knows what. No one has been up to ask.
The Ebon Cascade
The Ebon Cascade is worse. It’s what lies on the other side of Twilight’s Edge, past the Walls of Ramnos — the place Xavian’s corruption dug into deepest and never left. Its eastern border is a curtain of foul waterfalls spilling off the chasm edge, the runoff of poisoned rivers bleeding from the center of the Cascade. A mist hangs around it like a shroud.
Four expeditions have tried to cross it. None came back.
Ramnos is preparing the fifth.
